EVENT BRANDING & COLLATERAL
Overview
A full event branding suite for DC DIA, a Day of the Dead celebration held in Washington D.C. in partnership with Destination DC and DC Metro. The work spans logo layout, typography, web banners, billboard, print collateral, and metro card design.
The Challenge
Day of the Dead is a deeply rooted cultural tradition, and the event needed to honor that while functioning as a clear, accessible public campaign across a wide range of formats from a metro card to a billboard.
The Solution
I handled the logo layout, typography, and design system, working alongside an illustrator whose custom artwork anchored the visual identity. The type choices were bold and direct, letting the illustrations breathe while keeping the messaging legible across every scale. The system had to work as well on a small metro card as it did blown up on a billboard.
Applications
The work was applied across logo layout, web banners, billboard design, print collateral, and metro card design, giving the campaign a cohesive presence throughout the city.
